: This position is responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks to maintain the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. This position is responsible for cleanliness of dining tables, kitchen equipment and patient trays.

• Cleans and sanitizes dishes according to hospital department guidelines.
• Gathers patient trays from hospital floors.
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guidelines as well as to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures. Reports problems with equipment and facility in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Details & Scheduling

• Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 total after 90 days
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours, Full Time

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrates communication skills to include reading color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred: Professional housekeeping experience

Physical Requirements:

• Operate housekeeping equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
• See and read labels, monitors, and documents.
• Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting supplies, and service equipment.
• Climb, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs to clean equipment and reach and retrieve supplies.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate hot and cold extremes in temperature.
