Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to strict safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. The technician will work closely with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to provide essential support in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols. Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality before use. Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate records as required by regulatory standards. Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand specific needs for surgical procedures. Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during processing. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in sterile processing.
