Overview

As a Steel Welder and Fabricator at Sterling Equipment, you will be handcrafting and welding (MIG) steel truck accessories, such as truck racks and cab guards. You will be using ironworkers, saws, a forklift, power tools, and more.

What you'll do

Interpret technical drawings to fabricate steel products accurately Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on various thicknesses and sizes of round tubing, square tubing, solid rod, and flat steel Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery, such as ironworkers and a mandrel bending machine for fabrication tasks Measure and fabricate accurately to at least 1/16 of an inch Operate forklifts safely to transport materials and finished product Install finished products on customers' vehicles Unload material shipments via forklift

Basic qualifications

Professional experience in MIG welding (at least 1 year) Strong fabrication knowledge and experience Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements Ability to read and understand a variety of prints for truck racks/parts/accessories Ability to lift 50 pounds Reliable transportation and valid US Driver's License

Experience using a forklift

Base Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
