As a Statistical Consultant, you will perform a variety of research and analysis tasks to support consulting projects for federal and state governments, health plans, associations and foundations, hospitals, and health systems.
OSC/Lewin is looking for a detail-oriented individual to work with its project teams supporting the identification of fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in government health programs. Lewin assists state and federal administrations such as the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services in evaluating and optimizing healthcare program operations through a combination of analytic and policy-driven research, modeling, and reporting.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and perform a variety of research and consulting tasks, including data review and analysis
  • Contribute critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop creative and innovative solutions
  • Improve existing project deliverables and perform ad hoc analyses based on client need
  • Manage time effectively across multiple projects or tasks, with different managers and competing priorities
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy, along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to always meet deadlines

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience performing statistical analyses, such as ratio estimation
  • Experience analyzing Medicare claims data
  • Experience using software for data analysis, such as SAS, Python, R, or SQL
  • Academic and/or work experience including:
  • Performing quantitative analysis
  • Maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working effectively as a member of a project team
  • Preparing presentations and reports for clients
  • Interpreting data outputs and articulating findings to clients
  • Familiar with the Integrated Data Repository (IDR) system
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the IDR
  • Experience with data analyses, such as hypothesis testing, regression modeling, and data visualization
  • Healthcare or human services research experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
