Overview:
The Station Manager will have directed supervisory responsibility and operational oversight of assigned personnel from the respective station. They will maintain strong communication with regional/general manager of the state of Michigan. The Station Manager has a comprehensive role and will be an integral part of the ambulance management team.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and structure to daily operations of Superior Ambulance Michigan division.
Maintain 24/7 accountability to Management.
Participate in required Manager-on-duty rotation with an expectation to cover as needed.
Daily deployment of assigned vehicles.
Collaborate with the Fleet Manager and Controller to schedule maintenance, repair or replacement of ambulances.
Collaborate with the Scheduling Department and Communication Center personnel to maximize deployment of ambulances.
Review daily scheduling of personnel, assure team configurations align with division policies.
Secure coverage for all unscheduled staff absences and coordinate staffing with crew scheduler and controller to maximize deployment.
Assist with ambulance staffing and deployment as needed.
Publish daily deployment and communicate deployment changes with Management and the Communication Center.
Maintain clinical proficiency at the EMR, EMT, Paramedic licensure level.
Participate in the performance evaluation process and present feedback to personnel.
Participate in Quality and Safety Management programs.
Participate in special projects and committees.
Ensure availability of medical supplies and coordinate inventory management with the Inventory Control department.
Ensure operation and availability of medical and administrative equipment by verifying spare equipment availability; tracking preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; and coordinating maintenance with the Inventory Control department.
Maintain complete and accurate records to assure compliance with corporate, Division, Medical Control/EMS System, and local regulatory agency policies.
Attend all required corporate and station training and meetings.
Facilitate and assist in providing required corporate continuing education i.e. OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, and Documentation.
Promote the concepts of Shared Governance and Just Culture within the Company.
Demonstrate the ability to function independently; to prioritize, delegate, and utilize critical thinking skills in a variety of situations.
Demonstrate effective communication skills with all external and internal customers, including patients and their families, hospital staff, the community, other Superior Ambulance staff.
Represent Superior Ambulance in a professional manner.
Schedule will be pre-assigned for which station the manager will be helping 8 days before.
