This supervisory-level position is part of the Central Classification section and is responsible for directly supervising staff performing State-level Classification analysis, leading the completion of multiple special projects, and researching and resolving escalated human resource requests, inquiries, and challenges. An important aspect of this work is ensuring the proper training and development of human resource staff. Responsibilities include Class Spec, Job Requirement and FLSA/EEO reviews; conducting and reviewing statewide analyses related to critical reclassifications, position establishments, and promotional standards; identifying challenges and making recommendations; and implementing new/revised internal procedures to facilitate effectiveness and oversee implementation. This position will independently lead meetings/conference calls and provide guidance to staff and state agency officials/management, human resource business partners, and state and local organizations in interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, solving and handling complex/sensitive human resource matters and assuring consistency across departments in policy application. In addition, this position will conduct regular staff meetings to ensure deadlines and performance measures are met while monitoring workflow to adjust priorities.
