Title: Equipment Service Technician II
Location: Richmond, VA (initial site to be serviced will be Prince George, VA)
Duration: 12+ months with high possibility of extension

Client s launching a new line of business in the Richmond, VA area selling, installing, and servicing window panes. The position will involve going to manufacturing sites/plants in Richmond to assist with installation and also servicing equipment. Position requires a great deal of flexibility. Position will initially be working 8-5, but this will vary at times. Worker may work 1/2 day and then receive a service call at 6pm and have to go onsite. OT is a possibility.

Position Summary:

• Equipment Service Technician Position will serve as a process and equipment resource and subject matter expert for customers utilizing Corning Architectural Technical Glass (ATG) in a windows (insulated glass unit) manufacturing environment.
• Main responsibility is to ensure that complex manufacturing equipment and processes meet customer requirements in terms of performance, availability and reliability, while providing world-class customer service
• Monitor process attributes and equipment performance on an ongoing basis
• Escalate equipment performance issues and identify opportunities for improvement
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for existing Corning customers
• Provide on-boarding, hands-on training, and equipment installation support for Corning customers
• Ensure all equipment and process documentation is up to date
• Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner
• Represent Corning as the primary technical point of contact for service-related questions and issue resolution

Essential Skills and Duties:

• Provide high quality equipment and process support for fast-paced 24/7 IG manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings
• Experience with various electrical and machine control systems is a plus
• Equipment and process troubleshooting, problem solving skills.
• Work closely with other manufacturing Technicians and technicians to resolve equipment issues.
• Provide incremental training and coaching on new equipment or process changes as needed.
• Complete site inspection and SAT activities for new equipment launches
• Provide constructive coaching and guidance throughout all levels of the support organization to develop appropriate troubleshooting skills and techniques in others.
• Ability to work across various functional groups on a regular basis to accomplish goals: Operations, IT, Facilities, Project Engineering, QE, Supply Chain, etc.
• Provide internal service reports on overall project and equipment status
• Support technical document writing (SOP, Preventive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, etc.) as required
• Demonstrate working sensitivity to different cultures and backgrounds

Job Knowledge and Educational Level:

• BS in engineering field and 2+ years working in manufacturing/production environment or AS in engineering or technical field and 5+ years working in a technical support role in a manufacturing/production environment
• Experience with various electro-mechanical devices such as servo motors, pumps, valves, sensing devices
• Experience with production data and performance analysis
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings using AutoCAD

• Less than 20%

• Occasional off-hours meetings or travel may be required
