Under the general supervision of the Regional Director, Staff Services Manager III, the District Administrator (DA) is responsible for managing a program of vocational rehabilitation (VR) services within an assigned geographical service area in support of the Department's mission and goals. Using initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness must analyze situations and provide leadership to effectively plan and resolve problems.
Effective January 1, 2026, the Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory) classification will be re-titled to Supervisor II as a part of California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) generalist consolidation. Any candidate hired on or after this date will be appointed under the newly re-titled classification. The Supervisor IIexam will be available to take effective January 1, 2026.

Working Conditions
The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
