This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.



Are you passionate about customer service, data analytics, and improving the employee learning experience? In this dynamic role within the Learning & Development Branch, you will conduct complex analytical tasks that drive the success of learning and development programs. Reporting to the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent evaluates program effectiveness, develops and manages training contracts, maintains critical data within the department's learning management system (LMS), and oversees training materials that support in-person training. You'll partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered efficiently and effectively helping team members at every level grow and succeed.

Working Conditions


Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.


This position has telework opportunities and team members may be scheduled to work in the office at any time.

Office Environment: Work within a comfortable office setting, providing a professional atmosphere that encourages productivity and collaboration. Seated Work: Primarily sedentary role, requiring extended periods of sitting; adjustable desks may be available to promote movement and flexibility. Technology Usage: Utilize a computer terminal for most tasks, involving extended periods of typing and screen time with appropriate ergonomic support to enhance comfort. Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with team members and stakeholders efficiently. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed, particularly for packing materials and supplies, ensuring a hands-on approach to certain tasks. Manual Dexterity The role requires fine hand manipulation and repetitive use of hands, making attention to ergonomics and breaks important for overall well-being. Drives a minimum of one (1) day per week as part of the job duties (includes state vehicles).

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a recognized leader in public service and has existed for over 100 years. The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 36 million vehicles in California, and serving 34 million driver license and identification card holders, collecting over $14 billion in annual revenue. Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or similar platforms, including data entry, reporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining data accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Automate, Forms, Lists, etc.). Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to make recommendations and support decision-making. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create reports, presentations, and professional correspondence. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to inquiries, resolve issues, and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience coordinating training programs, contracts, and budget tracking. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements. Familiarity with inventory management and logistical planning for in-person and virtual training events.
