Job Description
H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks an entry-level Staff Engineer in our Mechanical/HVAC Department. This position will be responsible for the design of HVAC systems for industrial buildings, schools, firehouses and commercial buildings.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications for various large and small scale HVAC projects.
- Assist in performing project administration including gathering information, writing reports, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
- Coordination with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm
- Client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 0-2 years of design experience in a consulting environment with an emphasis on HVAC projects
- Experience preparing construction specifications and drawings
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- EIT desired
- CPD desired
