Kansas Neurological Institute The Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI) is an intermediate care facility offering support to over 125 residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. KNI practices a person-centered philosophy to support our residents so they can have the quality of life they deserve by recognizing their individuality, honoring their choices, protecting and maintaining their health, helping to build and maintain their relationships with others, and making sure that they are included in every aspect of their lives; in their homes, in their jobs, and in the community. KNI has 20 homes with direct support staff assisting with daily living activities in each home throughout four buildings and is located on a large campus, east of the VA hospital in Topeka. KNI is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation. About the Position: This position will develop and conduct training programs designed to maintain and enhance KNI\xe2\x80\x99s ability to achieve its mission and ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws. These include individialized curriculums for the purposes of mentoring and training new staff and continuing the education and mentoring of all staff. They will also conduct CPR training. If needed, they assist staff with literacy, and stardardized testing needs. Compensation/Other Information:

  • Hourly Pay Range: Starts at $19.16 per hour

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
  • One to two years of experience in developing informational or educational presentations.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to use computers with a wide array of software programs, a telephone, a copy machine, a digital camera, audio/visual equipment, public address systems, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Adult or Secondary Education
  • Knowledge of support provided to people who experience significant cognitive and physical disabilities.
  • Valid Driver\'s License
