Financial Audit Lead Analyst (Staff Auditor, Internal Audit)

POSITION SUMMARY
The mission of Internal Audit is to help our colleagues identify and evaluate risks and internal controls so we can better deliver on our mission - together. Internal Audit helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

The Lead Analyst participates in financial, operational, and compliance audits utilizing independent judgement and discretion. The Lead Analyst is responsible for completing assigned portions of audits and special projects related to one or more business segments. The Lead Analyst evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls over the activities reviewed and prepares documentation on audit results. General direction provided by Auditor-in-Charge or Audit Manager on audits/projects. In addition, the Lead Analyst may provide training and act as a mentor to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of audit standards, policies and procedures.
  • Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal control.
  • Plans or assists in planning, the scope of the audit, and prepares or assists in preparing the audit program.
  • Surveys functions and activities in assigned areas under review to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control in achieving established objectives.
  • Prepares formal written reports, as requested, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal control.
  • Works with cross functional departments to research and resolve issues using innovative solutions.
  • Makes, or assists in making, oral or written presentation to management during and at the conclusion of the audit, discusses deficiencies, recommends corrective action, and suggests improvement in operations and reductions in cost.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • Works in both an office-based and virtual team-based collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, or finance; or a Master\'s degree
  • IT and/or Data Analytics experience is a plus but not required
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of audit standards, policies, or procedures
  • Understanding of business operations and processes is helpful
  • Focus on quality and service
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information is critical
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate deadlines and travel (up to 15%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and multitask.
  • Experience working with cross functional departments to research and resolve issues using innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry is helpful
Location: This role can based in St. Louis, MO; Bloomfield, CT; Morris Plains, NJ or Nashville, TN with flexible hybrid schedule.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
