Job Summary Perform duties to assist and support Accounting Team with preparation of monthly financial statements, packages and reports for assigned properties, within the limits of standard or accepted practice. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review/analyze financial information provided by new properties (start-ups) to onboard and properly establish them within our systems.
  • Map/Code budgets and beginning balances for start-ups utilizing our standard chart of accounts.
  • Assist in preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare journal entries. Enter journal entries into the accounting system as needed.
  • Review monthly reports of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correct errors prior to close of accounting period.
  • Conduct research on outstanding or unexplained items to assist in identifying and explaining any variances on the Financial Statements.
  • Report discrepancies to designated Team member.
  • Upload Financial Statement package into system once completed and approved by Senior Accountants.
  • Assist in preparing additional financial reports requested by Client to include in the Financial Package or provide to the Community Association Manager and/or BOD.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.
  • Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Education & Experience Associate\'s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or its equivalent and one year of experience in Accounting /bank reconciliations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must have basic proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, navigating in databases, record keeping and researching the Internet.
  • Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, judgment and decision making abilities.
Tools & Equipment Used Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment. Physical Requirements/Working Environment This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit and walk. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.
