Performs various daily accounting tasks such as correspondent bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations and processing journal entries. The position will process accounts payable and maintain fixed asset and prepaid general ledger accounts as needed. The position will prepare monthly workpapers related to the Bank's monthly general ledger and certification program. The position will also assist with regulatory filings.
Target compensation $31/hr, based on the candidates individual experience level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
+ Prepares daily correspondent bank reconciliations and journal entries.
+ Prepares monthly journal entries related to month-end close for the bank and subsidiaries.
+ Enters fixed assets and prepaid assets activity into accounting system.
+ Prepares workpapers related to monthly general ledger and certification process.
+ Posts financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system.
+ Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal entries, employee reimbursements, and credit card statements as needed.
+ Prepares regulatory filings for the bank and bank holding company.
+ Processes payroll and employee benefits.
+ Files and/or removes records and reports.
+ Performs related work as assigned.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Maintains advanced knowledge and awareness of financial industry status and trends.
May represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business.
Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
Operates computer terminal or personal computer to obtain and process data.
Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.

Desired Requirements
+ Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance.
+ Basic experience, knowledge and training in Business Banking Center operation activities, terminology and products and services.
+ Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
+ Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software.
+ Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
+ Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

+ Project a businesslike professionalism to the client in both appearance and manner.
+ Possess a strong customer service orientation, and a willingness to place the customer first.
+ Possess strong written/verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational/time management skills.
+ Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; and word processing and spreadsheet software.
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
+ Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
