Job Family Description
Project management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
Discipline Description
Control Account Managers (CAMs) exclusive/primary role is to manage multiple Control Accounts within one or more highly complex projects, organize analyze, and maintain financial data, monitor objectives, and prepare variance reports using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes. They support the preparation and approval of project plans, baselines, and instructions, as well as various reviews and audits. CAMs may coordinate project efforts to ensure progress aligns with schedule, cost, and scope baselines, and work to proactively to correct adverse trends. CAMs may also draft documentation and presentations to support obtaining project funding and approvals. They may represent projects in presentations and meetings to internal and external stakeholders regarding project validation, implementation, and status. CAMs perform complex financial analyses, understanding the technical and operational scope within their Control Accounts.
