BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

Lead product and sales training, including the supervision of instructors and management of suppliers, facilities, and equipment. The primary audience for these activities is KTC\'s dealer channel in the United States, while both KTC employees and specific customer groups are also beneficiaries. This position collaborates with Product & Brand Marketing, Sales, and Service to uncover opportunities to positively impact dealer sales capabilities, define aligned strategies and tactics, and execute on the tactics that bring the strategies to fruition.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company\'s policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • Manage the personnel and resources dedicated to product & sales training in the United States. This includes engaging with suppliers that complement KU\'s capabilities and making make/buy decisions to achieve product & sales training objectives.
  • Supervise product & sales training personnel and coach their professional development. Provide direction and coaching to personnel from other areas who are serving in instructional roles.
  • Manage the acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposition of equipment and other resources used in training. This includes forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on the sales training budget and equipment inventories.
  • Define product and sales training Key Performance Indicators. Proactively report on performance and relate how sales training efforts are furthering the accomplishment of KTC\'s business objectives.
  • Participate in the creation and continual improvement of product & sales training curriculum and related support/reference materials for KTC, addressing needs related to new, current, and legacy Kubota equipment. This includes the creation, communication and continual improvement of training plans for the audiences who benefit from KU training.
  • Manage and continually improve the processes related to product & sales training, particularly those related to project identification, prioritization, and delivery. Align these processes with those of other workgroups to enable the success of contributors, collaborators, and clients.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and others in KU to ensure the effectiveness of needs analysis, instructional design, evaluation and reporting.
  • Forge mutually beneficial relationships with leaders and subject matter experts in product marketing and sales to ensure the successful launch of new products and the effective support through training of products already in-market.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, AG Science, Education, or other related area required.
  • Master\'s Degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years related Agriculture sales, service, trainer, marketing, or other related experience required.
  • At least 5 years\' experience managing direct reports required.
  • Experience with adult learning strongly preferred.
  • Experience with corporate university design and functionality preferred.
  • Extensive experience developing and presenting product related learning activities.
  • Demonstrated ability in project and workload management.
  • Strong team work and team building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and written communication skills, including the ability to train others. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to be self-motivated.
  • Ability to quickly learn Kubota computer applications.
  • Ability and experience operating Ag equipment following all safety precautions.
  • Experience with MS Office products and various learning development software programs (Articulate, Captivate).
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):

This position occasionally (5-10% of the time) operates a wide variety of Kubota and partner equipment in order to set up and conduct training programs. This may include demonstrating features, performing maintenance, demonstrating proper operation or other activities depending on program objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time; physically able to operate Kubota tractors and equipment; licensed and able to operate automobiles on public roadways; able to travel without physical personal assistance to any location inside and outside the U.S. The position will require walking, standing and sitting at a computer.
