DESCRIPTION

Do you want to amplify Amazon\'s mission to build the world\'s safest delivery network through the power of effective change communications, storytelling, and messaging campaigns? We are looking for a Sr. Strategic Communications Manager who will inform and educate 2500+ Delivery Service Partner (DSP) Owners about safety, the Delivery Excellence Scorecard, and compliance. You will also tell the stories of how DSPs operate safe and successful businesses all while employing 120,000+ Delivery Associates (DAs) and operating 75,000+ Prime-branded vehicles to deliver tens of millions of packages per week through our Last Mile delivery network.

You will Insist on the Highest Standards by building off the safety vision Amazon has for DSP Owners into a content calendar that leverages multiple tactics such as written communications, leadership messages, video content, and messaging playbooks. You will Dive Deep to translate complex changes and technical and operational information into user-friendly resources and rich content to make it seamless for DSPs to operate businesses that excel in safety, delivery quality, and compliance. You\'ll Invent and Simplify, finding ways to make this information memorable, engaging, and compelling, whether through storytelling or communication campaign docs, motivating DSPs to use safety and performance tools to propel their business success. You will be known for being (Are) Right a Lot as you have strong judgment when dealing with unprecedented situations and can think critically through a problem, devise an action plan, and advise senior leaders with ease. You will consolidate and simplify messaging related to safety so we can respond to safety incidents quickly and efficiently. You will partner closely with the DA Communications team to ensure that the safety messaging you are developing for DSP Owners is also cascading to the 120,000 DAs directly through the DA In-App Newsfeed, Stand Up Meetings (SUMs), and new and emerging channels that engage DAs.

You will Earn Trust and work with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders including Last Mile Safety and Performance, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Change Management, Global Fleet and Product (GFP), Transportation, Risk and Compliance (TRC), Central Operations (CO), Employee Relations (ER), Public Relations (PR), and Legal. The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator with strategic communications experience, business acumen, and excellent writing ability. You will be a thought leader who indexes high on emotional intelligence. You will bring in fresh ideas to simplify and scale our communications processes. Our environment is fast-paced and requires a candidate who has a high Bias for Action and thrives in ambiguity.

This role can be based in Nashville, TN, or Bellevue, WA. We encourage our team members to visit the nearest Amazon corporate office a few times out of the month to establish a solid network.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategize and execute proactive multi-channel content strategy centered on safety and how it intersects with fleet, compliance, technology, delivery quality, business performance, and delivery excellence
- Drive storytelling efforts and communication campaigns to both solve business needs and instill a safety-first culture among the DSP community
- Identify opportunities to build scalable mechanisms, such as messaging guidelines and communications playbooks, to prepare the business for large-scale events (LSEs) and unforeseen incidents
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, drive resolution of critical issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs and propose corrective actions to keep initiatives moving forward
- Partner with Change Management to identify efficiencies in how safety/Scorecard programs are rolled out to the DSP network
- Partner with stakeholders to ingest customer listening data and use it to inform a communication strategy
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications

A day in the life
We write a lot and "are right a lot"! We respond to business needs and develop messaging for change announcements. We also interview DSPs and DAs to build compelling spotlight and advocacy stories. We own multiple channels by which we communicate to our DSP Owners, including the Communication Center, Email, and SMS. We communicate to DAs through the DA In-App Newsfeed, built within their Amazon Delivery App. We partner effectively with other content creator teams including Public Relations, Operations Internal Communications (OIC), and Amazon Global Communities (AGC) to insist on the highest standards.

The DSP & DA Communications and Engagement team is made up of 15+ high performing leaders. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- 5+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
- Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
