Overview

  • The Senior Project Manager position, a member of the CS&OD Business Delivery Team, must have a commanding knowledge and execution of project management principles. The Senior Project Manager will manage the scope, schedule, risk, contingencies and communication for all the projects he/she is assigned to. Project assignments will include New Customer Implementations, Enhancements/Upgrades to Existing Customer Accounts, and/or Internal Support / Corporate-Wide projects. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and partners to deliver the project as planned. This position is expected to \xe2\x80\x9chit the floor running\xe2\x80\x9d and be able to flawlessly execute per the PM Checklist and SOP\xe2\x80\x99s established for the Business Delivery Team.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting the integration of multi-million dollar logistics accounts within Saddle Creek Logistics Services\xe2\x80\x99 operation and other strategic projects. This entails aligning functional groups (Information Services, Accounting, HR, Operations, and Distribution Support) and work streams to form a single cohesive team from inception to completion.
  • Manage a wide array of projects from warehouse start-ups, setting up production, transitions from other 3PLs to SCLS, systems implementations, and process improvement.
  • Fill the role of \xe2\x80\x9cProgram Manager\xe2\x80\x9d for larger customers which maintain an open portfolio of projects requiring the support of the Business Delivery Team. As Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager will track and report on activity for all open projects for a specific customer.
  • Improve and develop project management processes to support needs of the Business Delivery Team and organization
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables, and lead discussions to resolve critical project gaps
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Develop, coordinate, motivate and lead multiple project teams simultaneously to ensure completion of requirements and confirm project deliverables are on-time and to the customer\xe2\x80\x99s expectation.
  • Develop and apply valuable project specific risk mitigation and contingency planning to ensure project success.
  • Manage consistent communication to all project stakeholders to include escalation of project concerns or issues to key contacts to include follow up and resolution; Constantly monitor and report on progress of projects to all stakeholders
  • Provide client support during \xe2\x80\x9cgo live\xe2\x80\x9d of each project, evaluate results, and create \xe2\x80\x9clessons learned\xe2\x80\x9d prior to closing out projects.
  • Perform all other duties as needed in support of project activities.
Education / Experience
  • GED/High School Diploma is required
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably within the Logistics / 3PL industry
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a willingness to pursue PMP certification.
  • Developed knowledge of project management principles, techniques and tools
  • Proficient in project management software
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to anticipate and analyze problems, resolve issues and manage multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail. A strong interest in ensuring all deliverables are high quality products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written, verbal and presentation
  • Proven ability to present and communicate to all levels of management, both at Saddle Creek and with the Customer Teams.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution; challenging team members
  • Proven experience is driving issues to resolution and clearly identifying the Root Cause of issues or problems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
