Job Description

The

Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL)

has launched a

multi-year modernization initiative

to transition from its legacy systems to a

modern, distributed, and cost-effective environment

. This initiative will replace existing business applications with

COTS solutions

and

internally developed systems

, improving efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.



The selected

Project Manager

, assigned to the

Project Management Office (PMO)

, will oversee the full lifecycle of project execution using

PMI best practices

and the

GDOL Project Management Methodology

.



Responsibilities:





The Project Manager will

direct and coordinate all project activities

, including but not limited to:



Project Planning & Scheduling

- develop, maintain, and monitor timelines and milestones

Resource Management

- track project resources and ensure appropriate allocation

Risk Management

- identify, assess, and mitigate project risks

Communications & Reporting

- manage stakeholder communications and provide regular project updates

Quality Management

- maintain standards and ensure deliverables meet project requirements

Vendor Management

- collaborate with external partners to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables
You will be responsible for managing

complex technology projects

with

aggressive timelines

, ensuring end-to-end execution and delivery.



Required Qualifications (Must-Have Skills)





Active PMP Certification

(required)*
Proven success managing

large-scale, complex IT projects

across the

full systems development lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience with

multiple delivery methodologies

: Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and Kanban Documented expertise in: + Business requirements gathering and documentation
+ Business process mapping
+ Testing methodologies and deployment oversight
Managed at least

two full lifecycle Agile software development projects

(initiation deployment/warranty) + Teams of

10+ members


+ Full accountability for end-to-end project management
Experience managing

enterprise-level software development and implementation

projects Proven success collaborating with

vendor partners

for solution delivery Strong

communication, analytical, negotiation, and leadership

skills Proficiency in

PM tools

, including: MS Project Professional, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, SharePoint
