SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Polaris operates a global manufacturing footprint with more than 10,000 dedicated employees and proactively manages current utilization and future capacity investments. This role coordinates the assessment and recommendation of actions that best support the Global Business Unit strategic priorities. The Sr Program Manager, PNO coordinates across departments and locations to determine the enterprise-wide opportunity and cost of multiple operating footprint and product build allocation alternatives. The result is a comprehensive, data-driven approach that meets customer requirements with the best solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage established models to compare scenarios considering manufacturing network capabilities \xe2\x80\x93 and work to improve the models over time. Modeling improvements can include improved accuracy, lower effort, and business systems automation. Models will be used to inform the experienced judgment of decision makers in terms of manufacturing location, capacity, and investment alternatives. Key components of the modeling and recommendation process include understanding the Business Unit priorities, operating costs, investments, logistics, capacity, international tariff and duty charges as well as ability to access customers in key markets, among others.

This role will partner with the PNO Finance Manager and Director, Central Ops. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing and then comparing multiple scenarios to inform PNO recommendations.
  • Recommending improvements to the network that include financial estimates and action plans for recommended changes.
  • Determining manufacturing plant allocations for new model introductions; including identifying manufacturing locations and sequence of introduction.
  • Coordinating with in/out-sourcing key activities.
  • Preparing the manufacturing network in advance for capacity, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards that develop.
  • Represent the operations organization\xe2\x80\x99s perspective and provide leadership on acquisition integration initiatives, including vertical integration.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with operations and business leadership to ensure alignment and support of proposed plans.
  • Manage program teams consisting of functional areas: marketing, sales, service, manufacturing, quality, testing, design, development, and technical publications.
Meet financial objectives, including:
  • Forecasting requirements; developing and managing all planned changes and cost enhancement opportunities.
  • Preparing, tracking, and maintaining adherence to budgets
  • Driving project adjustments and initiating corrective actions when current conditions differ from expected.
  • Present program status updates and product changes/enhancements to Senior Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree required in business, engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years related experience, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity and ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs with a globally located team. PMP or PgMP Certification preferred.
  • Decisive and prone to action.
  • Demonstrated competence in manufacturing processes optimization with a strong product knowledge base.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage teams across geographies and without direct report relationships.
  • Able to handle several assignments at one time and work in matrix organization.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with suppliers, customers and outside agencies.
  • Ability to manage projects in all areas of manufacturing operations including: footprint optimization, product rationalization, business strategy, capacity and investment planning, quality, productivity and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, experienced in creating and delivering presentations for executives.
