Scope:
Hands-on role focused on extrusion process development, optimization, and continuous improvement for insulated wire and cable.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
Develop, document, and refine extrusion processes for insulated copper and cable products.
Monitor and adjust parameters to maximize efficiency, minimize scrap, and ensure consistent quality.
Troubleshoot extrusion line issues with production and maintenance teams.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to UL, ISO, RoHS, and other standards.
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality-related process issues.
Materials & Equipment
Support trials and qualifications of thermoplastic materials (PVC, XLPE, PE, TPE).
Recommend tooling, die, and material improvements to enhance performance.
Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades.
Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
Analyze production data to reduce variation and improve output.
Develop SOPs and train extrusion personnel.
Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with R&D, quality, production, and maintenance teams.
Support new product introductions with process design and validation.
What the Client is Looking For
Education:
Bachelor's in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
3+ years in manufacturing, with strong
plastic extrusion
background (wire/cable strongly preferred).
Ideal profiles:
1 candidate with 5-8 years' experience.
2 candidates with 1-3 years' experience.
Core Skills:
Plastic extrusion & tooling knowledge.
Hands-on, floor-based problem solver.
CI/Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong communication and ability to drive change.
Eligibility:
U.S. citizen or permanent work authorization.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
Starting at $105k
Bonus:
20-25%.
