Job Description


This position oversees the preparation and filing of the quarterly and annual financial reports as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This role will be responsible for performing technical accounting research, analyzing the impact to the financial statements and disclosures, and communicating findings and conclusions on white papers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for managing the company\'s SEC filings, including gathering supporting documents and working with cross-functional teams on filing documents, including addressing comments and managing drafts and revisions.
  • Lead research of complex technical accounting matters and the drafting of position papers, technical memos, and technical accounting policy.
  • Lead preparation and review of the periodic reports filed with the SEC including completion of the financial tables, qualitative disclosures, XBRL reporting, coordination of the review by internal and external parties and the overall tie-out of the results. Filings include the 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other filings as necessary.
  • Manage the process of gathering, preparing, and reviewing schedules to support financial statement disclosures and prepare and review disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Monitor standards set by the FASB and SEC that could impact the Company\'s accounting policies, practices and disclosures and communicate potential impacts to Management.
  • Research technical accounting matters and document positions, assessments, and conclusions on white papers.
  • Assist with SOX compliance and evaluate and ensure optimal design of internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the Company\'s external auditors and coordinate external audit process.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining the company\'s accounting policies.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives related to accounting, financial reporting, and process enhancements.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • CPA is required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience which must include a mix of professional experiences, including 2- 3 years\' experience in Big 4 or regional public accounting firms, as well as experience at a public company.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills working with a variety of stakeholders at different levels across various departments.
  • Proactive approach to problem identification and collaborative solutions, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member.
  • Flexibility, strong organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous and superior attention to detail
  • Advanced technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404, and experience with writing technical memos and policies preferred.
  • Experience with Workiva and NetSuite is preferred.
