Job Description


The AWS Hardware Reliability Team is part of AWS Hardware Engineering Services that designs cutting edge compute and storage platforms that enable one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest Cloud Service providers. As a Senior Reliability Engineer you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design infrastructure technologies. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. A successful candidate will be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will:

- Have a fundamental understanding of Reliability statistics/Reliability tests and solid understanding of computer systems to influence design for reliability.
- Have a fundamental understanding of material science as it relates to reliability
- Have a fundamental understanding of physics of failures for computer systems
- Define test methodologies and test coverage to assure product reliability.
- Be responsible for the reliability test validation of future technologies.
- Lead identifying and validating product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them
- Perform Reliability prediction of failure mechanisms, products under development and products in the field.
- Deep-dive into technologies aligned with product roadmap.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
- Bachelor\'s degree in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field, or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in server technologies such as, thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity
- Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications
- Master\'s degree or PhD in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
