Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in guiding and overseeing the development and implementation of data engineering solutions, ensuring the efficient processing, storage, and thoughtful thoughtfulness of data to drive business insights and innovation. You will report directly to our 1 and work out of our 2 location on a 3 work schedule.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by guiding a team of data engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You will be accountable for ensuring data quality, scalability, and security, and for providing technical guidance and expertise in data engineering best practices.



Key Responsibilities


Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the data engineering team, including data integration, data modeling, and data pipeline development Lead a team of data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and ensuring departmental goals are achieved Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand data requirements, design data models, and implement data integration solutions that support business needs Implement data governance processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security Monitor and optimize the performance of data engineering systems and infrastructure Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data engineering operations Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data engineering

YOU MUST HAVE


Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a related field Prior experience in a managerial or guiding role, overseeing a team of data engineers Strong insight of data engineering ethics, methodologies, and best practices Proficiency in data integration tools and technologies such as ETL, SQL, and data warehousing Experience in designing and implementing scalable and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure Strong thoughtful and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong guiding and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving goals
WE VALUE


Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Experience in cloud-based data engineering solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka Experience in data governance and data quality management practices Experience in the manufacturing or technology industry is a plus Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) Certifications in data engineering or related areas
