The Role

This position reports directly to the Manager of Carrier Relations and is primarily responsible for negotiating strategic deals with off-net carriers that provide cost effective solutions and enable revenue growth for Lumen. Candidate will be responsible for taking lead on third party access vendor negotiations for these purposes. The Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for "buy-side" management of assigned CLEC/MSO off-net providers for data products/services (Wave, Ethernet, Broadband, & TDM/SONET).
  • Manage off-net vendors to reduce costs and improve service delivery/maintenance intervals.
  • Drive commercial negotiations with vendors and coordinate with internal groups such as provisioning, network planning, maintenance and repair, sales, product, and other facets of Lumen that need support of these off-net carriers.
  • Provide secondary escalation point for Service Delivery and Service Assurance to ensure that services are installed & outages restored within contractual SLA\'s.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with vendor account teams in support of improved Product, Price, Process, and Performance opportunities.
  • Support operational and commercial enablement of network transformation activities.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor\'s degree (Business, Finance, Operations Science, etc.) and/or 5+ years related experience.
  • Operational experience in Telecommunications (Service Assurance, Service Delivery, Project Management, Contract Management).
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate w/ Management/Peers/Vendors and efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
