Job Description

As a Sr Aviation Manager, you will be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be responsible for coordinating company-owned Aircraft maintenance, modification and sales processes and procedures with internal and external parties. You\'ll ensure that all company-owned Aircraft are maintained and operated in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other applicable regulations, perform inspection and flight test activities prior to aircraft sales, and coordinating Flight and Ground Operations reviews with Aviation Safety Officials (ASO\'s) and Government Flight Representatives (GFR\'s). Your duties will also include performing internal audits of operating bases and deployed sites to ensure consistency of operations and compliance with FAA guidelines and participating in customer Quality at Entry (QAE) audit reviews.

The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains \xe2\x80\x93 air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aircraft maintenance, modification, and Flight / Ground Operations for the business unit
  • All manufacturing and production activities at the Hagerstown, MD facility
  • Forecast operations labor for contract pursuits, budgetary estimates, and resource planning purposes
  • In charge of staffing for all operations personnel requirements
  • Accountable for operations workforce compliance to AS9100D, DCMA-INST-8210.1D and FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards
  • Evaluating production readiness. Identifying the required tooling, equipment, and training necessary to ensure successful execution of programs
Must-haves:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field of study
  • A higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with the practical application of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures
  • \xe2\x80\xa2Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the practical application of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DCMAI 8210.1C
  • Ability to prepare and present information and matrix to leadership effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
  • Typically 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Experience supporting both Military and Commercial Aircraft environments
  • Background in Quality Assurance Management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001
  • FAA Part 145 experience
  • FBO and/or MRO experience
