Closing Date: April 29, 2023 at 5:00 PM Salary: Depending on Experience (DOE) POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for possessing a thorough knowledge of Gila River Gaming Internal Controls, policies, procedures, Tribal Gaming Office, Compact and State Gaming Regulations and ensures that the Sports Book is in regulatory compliance with the Tribal Gaming Office, State Gaming Authority, internal controls, and standard operating procedures by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
• Overall operational responsibility for all Sports Book operations both daily and long term.
• Create and implement policies and programs that support the achievement of property and company financial and operational goals and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor and make recommendations on Race & Sports book risk and liability, leading up to and during sporting events.
• Ensure Sports Book area is clean and that equipment is in proper working condition daily.
• Oversees and approves all department schedules.
• Assists department VP in preparing budgets, employee performance reviews, including budget variances, statistical fluctuations and organizational development.
• Develops training programs to ensure staff is cognizant of all departmental rules, regulations and procedures and prepares department employees for advancement and promotion.
• Responsible for implementing operating standards; customer service and productivity.
• Establishes an atmosphere that ensures a favorable gaming experience for players.
• Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
• Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
• Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises multiple Sports Book employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• An understanding of all sporting events and sports wagering.

• Must possess strong marketing/promotional skills, with the ability to promote and market all aspects of a sports book.

• Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows: Greet our guest, Interact positively with our guest, Listen actively to our guest, Appreciate our guest.

• Must possess excellent guest service skills, be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.

• This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
