Job Description

The Sportsbook Attendant is responsible for providing high-level guest service to casino guests. They greet and assist guests in explaining how to place and redeem Sportsbook wagers. They assist in writing, verifying, and paying out of Sportsbook wagers. They assure and maintain that all assigned gaming floor areas are operating properly. They identify and alert supervisors of problems and patron issues needing attention.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES:




Demonstrate knowledge of Sportsbook terminology; Maintain a thorough understanding of sports available for wagering, including wagering menus, odds, game schedules, and sporting events; Responsible for writing and payouts of Sportsbook wagers and verifying taxable wins; Monitor the retail and kiosk areas and identify machine problems or patron issues that may need attention; Responsible for assigned cashier bank, daily transaction documentation, and bank drops; Observe transactions for unusual or suspicious wager activity; Provide general maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned area; Learn and execute department systems, policies, and procedures; Display professionalism and courtesy towards customers, co-workers, and management at all times; Communicate through radio with supervisors and team members; Meet the attendance and departmental policies of the casino; Write or verbally report activities, observations, and recommendations daily; Follow protocol at all times; Other duties may be assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:




Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Money handling experience preferred. Experience working with casino operations preferred. Basic understanding of Sportsbook wagering and odds preferred. Flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime, as business needs dictate. Excellent skills in both written and oral communication. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word). Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other team members of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members. A Class III Swinomish Gaming Commission License is required upon employment.
