We're opening a newly acquired casual dining restaurant and lounge in Richmond, VA, set to launch in August 2025. This exciting new venue will combine elevated comfort food, a lively sports bar atmosphere, and a dynamic nightlife experience, including DJs, game-day events, and weekend entertainment.
We're looking for an experienced and driven Assistant General Manager to take the lead in all front-of-house operations and help bring our high-energy, guest-focused concept to life. This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to build a team and a culture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
Oversee all day-to-day operations of the restaurant and lounge, ensuring smooth service during lunch, dinner, game days, and nightlife events.
Champion a guest-first culture and lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality.
Collaborate with ownership and the Executive Chef to execute the restaurant's vision and vibe consistently.
Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, train, and manage all FOH staff including servers, bartenders, barbacks, and hosts.
Foster a positive and motivated team culture rooted in accountability, fun, and professionalism.
Lead pre-shift meetings, performance coaching, and staff development initiatives.
Financial & Administrative Management
Manage scheduling, payroll, labor costs, and P&L performance.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to control costs and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, alcohol, and employment regulations.
Event & Nightlife Coordination
Work closely with marketing and entertainment partners to coordinate game-day specials, DJ nights, private events, and promotions.
Adapt staffing, service flow, and operations to accommodate peak traffic during sports events and late-night programming.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
5+ years of restaurant management experience, with 2+ years as a General Manager in a high-volume, casual dining, sports bar, or nightlife venue.
A strong understanding of both restaurant and bar operations, with the ability to balance efficiency, service quality, and team morale.
Experience overseeing events and entertainment-driven operations.
Proven leadership and team-building skills with an eye for talent and training.
Solid grasp of financial reporting, labor management, and inventory systems.
