Job Description

Horizon Cable Service is seeking a driven individual who is willing to learn in a fast-paced environment. As a Spooler Trainee, you will be responsible for handling and operating various types of spooling equipment in the Oil & Gas Industry. You will work closely with experienced spoolers to learn the necessary skills and techniques required for the job. This is a job that will require 40+ hours and travel. MUST have or retain Class A or B CDL.

Responsibilities:

Learn and understand the operation of spooling equipment, including setup, calibration, and maintenance Assist experienced spoolers in the loading and unloading of materials onto spools Monitor the spooling process and ensure that it is running smoothly and efficiently Identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions with the spooling equipment Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment Keep accurate records of the spooling process, including information such as spool length, tension, and speed Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the spooling area

Requirements:

Must have or retain Class A or B CDL

Ability to drive manual transmission

Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials or equipment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet Willingness to learn and work as part of a team Good communication skills and ability to take direction Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, when required
