TCS Program DirectorWORK YEAR: 183 days (school year)Full-time (35 hours per week)Option to work an additional 6 weeks in TECs summer programTHE ROLE: The TEC Campus School SLPA is a member of an integrated team that includes teachers, nurses, therapists, and paraprofessionals who work collaboratively during the school day to support our students. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is expected to offer direct, indirect and consultation services to assist in the achievement of IEP goals and benchmarks for those students enrolled in TEC Campus School special education classes. Speech and language supports are provided within the context of an integrated related services approach whenever possible. Related services personnel are supervised by the Program Director, but their day to day functions are coordinated with SLPs and classroom teachers.



Specific responsibilities are outlined below. OUR ORGANIZATION: The Education Cooperative (TEC) is an educational collaborative and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in E. Walpole, MA that develops and coordinates educational and organizational programs to meet the needs of our 19 member communities and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their school programs and expands opportunities for their students, educators and communities in the most cost effective manner. TECs programs include three DESE approved public special education day schools, including the TEC Campus School.



Located at TECs beautiful 8-acres campus in E. Walpole, the TEC Campus Schools provides a small, caring, environment for students aged 3 through 21 that fosters the growth and success of each student. Working as an integrated team, TCSs teachers, nurses, therapists, and paraprofessionals, provide personalized multi-sensory instruction to meet individuals learning, communication, social, emotional, motor, behavior, daily living, and transition goals. Our students profiles may include: neurological impairment, sensory impairment, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, medical fragility, developmental delays, or multiple disabilities.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES (not prioritized)1.Learn classroom teachers' educational philosophies and contexts for designing age-appropriate educational/communication-related activities and routines for students with intensive special needs.2.Define day to day responsibilities and routines in coordination with SLPs and classroom teachers of the assigned TEC classes, with consultation from the Program Director.3.Participate in the formation and review of shared educational/communication-related goals and priorities for each student.4.Participate as a team member in making decisions and recommendations for the service delivery plans, goals, methodologies and benchmarks in students IEPs.5.Manage schedule with respective classes/students assigned.6.Provide direct, indirect and/or consultation services within classroom and/or community settings that models, facilitates or reinforces communication for students as they learn functional, age appropriate activities and routines (e.g., second grade, job site, etc..).7.Provide ongoing communication with TEAM members regarding the educational and communication- related needs of any assigned students. Any communications designed for TEAM members and/or other outside recipients are submitted to the SLP or classroom teacher and Program Director for review prior to dissemination.8.Assist SLPs as requested with data collection that is used to inform assessment. Assist in observing and documenting students progress with the educational goals and benchmarks specified in students' IEPs. In some cases, discipline specific contributions to progress reports or updates will be required.9.Assist in documenting services for students using the forms and protocol specified by TEC.



This includes contributing to the data management and portfolio development for complying with MCAS-Alternate requirements.10. Participate in TEC events, training activities, home visits or any other related activities deemed necessary by the Program Director, SLPs, and/or classroom teacher.
