The work involves performing scientific research and proof-of-concept algorithm development and implementation. The scope of this work will be to employ existing and/or develop new methodologies and algorithms for identifying materials based on spectral signatures in the IR. The accompanying analysis is expected to show the amount of material information that can be ascertained and/or constrained as a function of spectral resolution (e.g., total intensity, mult-spectral, hyperspectral, etc.). This work is to include performing a literature review and trade study on the effects of material coating and substrate on emissions of materials.
Develop a Python based spectral exploitation methods and algorithms to predict candidate material coating/substrate combinations based on spectral emissions as a function of spectral resolution.
