INTRODUCTION

Our mission is to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic testing to our clients in the health care industry. We are currently adding a team member to our Specimen Processing department. This department not only processes samples for internal testing but also ships and receives samples and supplies needed to perform the job and provides attentive and professional customer service to our providers and their staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Great attention to detail Proficient data entry skills Knowledge and ability to strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations Utilization of good laboratory practices (GLP) and other regulatory agency standards within area of responsibility Knowledge of laboratory safety as well as infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous material handling Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Efficiently and accurately maintain a fast-paced workflow Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must meet or exceed minimum education/experience requirements below:

High School Diploma or equivalent Some laboratory experience preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas Accurately identify and label specimens Prepare laboratory specimens for testing Meet department activity and production goals Data entry of tests ordered Performs all paperwork, technical and nontechnical, procedures required to process and submit specimens Resolve and document any problem specimens Provide excellent customer service Accurately follow written directions Keeping inventory of all supplies Packing and preparing supply shipments Maintain a clean working environment Work and communicate as team as well as individually
