The Human and Community Services Division (HCSD) offers assistance to low-income or struggling families and members of the community necessary to help them meet basic needs and work their way out of poverty. The Specialty Program Coordinator processes eligibility determinations for specialized public assistance programs (e.g., Subsidized Adoption, Breast and Cervical Cancer, Presumptive Eligibility, Medicaid/Healthy Montana Kids, etc.) administered by the Central Office to ensure efficient and compliant program administration (Eligibility). The position also conducts business process reviews to identify practices to improve efficiency and maintain compliance with policy, rule and law, as well as participates in system development and enhancement projects to ensure computer systems adequately support eligibility business processes. This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy. What you can offer us

  • Knowledge of eligibility and/or compliance determination rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality procedures including HIPPA and IRS regulations.
  • General knowledge of Medicaid and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of program management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases.
  • Knowledge of effective customer service methods and techniques.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s degree in social science, human services, office technology, or a related field.
    • Two years of experience including eligibility and customer service.
    • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of community based and/or statewide assistance programs and eligibility requirements and experience with CHIMES.
