Evaluate coverage by reviewing the first notice of loss and policy details; prepare disclaimers and reservation of rights letters as needed.
Claims Investigation:
Lead thorough investigations into claims, including assessing liability and damages, interviewing witnesses, inspecting scenes, and collecting evidence.
Independent Adjuster Management:
Engage and provide direction to independent adjusters while overseeing all aspects of the investigative process.
Liability Evaluation:
Apply statutory and case law to analyze liability exposure and ensure all responsible parties contribute appropriately.
Reserve Management:
Establish and maintain accurate reserves that reflect the evolving liability and damages associated with each claim.
File Oversight:
Proactively manage claim files from start to finish--negotiating settlements, overseeing defense counsel, and ensuring effective litigation management.
Reporting:
Prepare detailed reserve authority requests, reinsurance and serious loss reports, and coverage position letters.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Underwriting, Compliance, and Actuarial teams to share insights and support the development of strong, sustainable products.

Qualifications
Associate Claims Examiner:
2+ years of relevant experience
Claims Examiner:
7+ years of relevant experience
Prior experience as an examiner, adjuster, paralegal, attorney, or in another transferable role
Preferred:
Experience handling excess liability claims
Plus:
Multi-jurisdictional knowledge, advanced degrees, and/or a JD
