Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides Insurance and billing assistance in order to ensure smooth and efficient operations.




QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED and 2 years experience working in a healthcare or behavioral health care setting. Associate degree and 2 year of experience with billing, insurance and collection experience preferred. (May substitute experience for education).




SKILL SETS:

Basic knowledge of MS-Office including Excel, analytical skills, decision making skills, and communication, organization and presentation skills.






PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS

: Visual acuity necessary for computer work and administration of all paperwork. Requires minimal stooping and crouching to access files. Hearing and speaking necessary for phone conversations with clients, employees and other individuals. There are long periods of sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform keyboard and calculator functions and other related duties.




JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:



Submits electronic claims, retrieves electronic remittances, and posts electronic payments. Deletes charges for all programs when necessary. Corrects or distributes weekly billing edits and 837 State edits to the appropriate program for corrections. Corrects incorrect social security numbers and reports to the State. Corrects duplicate accounts. Performs month-end closing. Participates and provides leadership in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

1. Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.



2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.

Employee Assistance Counseling services available to all employees with limited dependent benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for up to 10 total visits per calendar year; dependents are eligible for up to 6 visits. Half-time employees are eligible for up to 6 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits. PT and PRN employees are eligible for 3 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits.
