Your role:

MilliporeSigma is seeking a motivated Specialist II to join its dynamic and collaborative Process and Analytical Development team at the Carlsbad viral vector CDMO facility. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of purification processes for manufacturing innovative viral vector therapeutics. The candidate will also support laboratory management responsibilities including maintenance of laboratory supplies to managing equipment service schedules.

The candidate will:

  • Execute routine chromatography and filtration experiments with increasing independence
  • Support drafting of worksheets, summary reports, and technical transfer documents under the guidance of experienced staff
  • Perform and assist in data analysis and interpretation of results with increasing independence
  • Support activities relating to process transfer from clients and internal partners
  • Apply sound scientific principles to make data-driven decisions with increasing independence
  • Interface with both internal and external customers to provide technical updates as needed
  • Perform laboratory management tasks to support routine operation
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of instruments
  • Coordinate purchase requisitions and maintain inventory of common laboratory consumables, reagents, and chemicals
  • Communicate effectively with the management team, internal and external partners
  • Routinely promote a culture of continuous improvement in the operation, technical capability, and client service
Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree inChemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, biochemistry, biology, or other life science studies
  • 6+ years of experience in pharma, medical device, biologics, or similar technical industries

OR
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, biochemistry, biology, or other life science studies
  • 3+ years of experience in pharma, medical device, biologics, or similar technical industries

OR
  • Master\'s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, biochemistry, biology, or other life science studies
  • 6 months of experience in pharma, medical device, biologics, or similar technical industries
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with chromatography and filtration techniques for biologics
  • Ability to apply sound scientific principles to analyze and complete projects
  • Effective communicator of scientific and technical ideas
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize projects and tasks to meet timelines
  • Familiarity with quality systems and requirements within an FDA-regulated environment
Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900

Our ranges incorporate all levels and career types available within this specific role, and are derived from relevant industry market data.
