PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:



The Special Projects Program Manager provides overall management and supervision of the special projects programs including supervision of staff, assisting in development and monitoring of budgets, data collection and reporting, and developing and implementing policies and procedures, as well as direct service responsibilities.

SCOPE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Comply with federal and state confidentiality regulations and obtain consent from individuals Based on clinical experience and knowledge, work with individual in one-on-one sessions to complete/develop a mental health assessment and individual treatment plan which will guide them to improved mental and physical health and self-sufficiency. Review and interpret clinical and other relevant information to determine outside service needs (i.e. substance abuse treatment, mental health services, employment readiness services) and refer individual to those agencies. Conduct ongoing assessment of an individual's safety (including life threatening situations), immediate needs, level of functioning, overall mental and physical health, capacity for decision making, and strengths and barriers. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and caseload management in compliance with DMH, HUD, Rule 132, and Phoenix CDS documentation requirements. Maintain case notes at a level to demonstrate efficient and effective use of time with consumers to equal a minimum of 66% (5 hours in a 7.5 hour work day) direct service time with consumers Provide mental health services, case management and community support to individuals Collaborate and consult effectively with other staff members and professionals for case coordination and treatment planning. Maintain contact with caseload on a monthly or more frequent basis. Maintain current documents and forms in individual's file. Perform other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES



Current and valid driver's license. Maintaining continuing education requirements specific to field and position. Must have the following: Bachelors in social work or related field (Required) Minimum 2 years of recent progressively responsible administrative management/supervisory experience preferred. Familiar with grants, budgets, and compliance requirements. Ability to work independently, manages time effectively, prioritizes and exercises good judgement with minimal supervision. Ability to comprehend and interpret complex rules, regulations, and laws. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to provide effective leadership for subordinate personnel and to develop and maintain a wide variety of internal and external working relationships. Ability to supervise staff and manage work activities. Ability to build collaborative relationships in the delivery of services in the public, private and government sectors with knowledge of the local service provider network. Basic knowledge of Windows office systems such as Word, Excel and Access.

WORK CONDITIONS



The Special Projects Program Manager is housed (has office) at the Administration office, but will spend time in the community liaising with providers and serving consumers. Work does include community based settings. Expect to interact with staff and consumers to provide activities related to work such as conducting meetings as well as workshops. Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
