Kiddie City Early Childhood Education Centers are expanding, and we're looking for a

Teacher with experience supporting children with special needs and/or challenging behaviors

to join our team at our

Hood River or Parkdale location.

You are more likely to get hired if you are flexible on location.

This is a full-time position (approx. 30 hours/week) with opportunities for growth, leadership, and professional development.

About the Role



We're seeking a compassionate, skilled educator who can support children with a range of developmental, behavioral, and sensory needs. You'll work closely with a caring team to create an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and capable of success.

You will:



Provide individualized care and guidance to children with special needs or behavioral challenges Implement positive behavior support strategies and calm, consistent communication Collaborate with team members and families to develop strategies for each child's success Foster social-emotional growth and build trust through empathy and patience Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment Encourage every child's curiosity, confidence, and independence

What We're Looking For



Experience working with children who have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviors (required) Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and trauma-informed care Excellent communication and collaboration skills Calm, empathetic, and reliable demeanor Ability to maintain structure while meeting each child's individual needs

Education & Requirements:



High school diploma or equivalent (required) CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule & Compensation



Hours:

Monday-Friday, 6-hour shifts (~30 hours/week)

Pay:

$17-$22+/hour (based on experience, education, and certification)

Full-Time Benefits (30+ hrs/week)
