The Special Inspector (Assistant Chief) role is only available to current Special Inspectors as a promotional opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Director of LCC in executing Home Investigation, Doctor Verification, and other Employee Availability functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: managing the fleet of vehicles assigned to the SI team, including maintenance, inspections, mileage, fuel cards, parking locations, etc.; assigning/overseeing Doctor Verifications and entering new providers in the Doctor Table; email AWOL/Not Found and Fraud DANs to the appropriate field teams to be served; monitor sick logs for individuals with extended periods of absence; conduct field investigations including home inspections, doctor verifications, audits, or suspected doctor office or department fraud; other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must possess a valid Driver's License with no restrictions Experience in supervising and/or managing field operations and/or personnel Ability to identify and report on trends, hot spots, and areas requiring greater attention Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines and exercise good judgment PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite Ability to work in a high-stress and high-volume environment Knowledge of Home Investigation and Doctor Verification procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five (5) years of full-time experience as an investigator, of which one (1) year must have been as an investigator in the field, or A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.

May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites.
