Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Special Hazard Fire Suppression Designer to join our team in the Pittsburgh suburb of Moon Township, PA. This position designs and coordinates special hazard suppression systems for various facilities. The candidate will design and create the finished representation for special hazard suppression systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. Drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office. The designer will have close coordination with the project manager and foreman throughout the respective projects.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock lists, analyzing changes, and solving problems Design various fire suppression systems while following required codes Identify value engineering opportunities where appropriate Conduct field surveys of existing buildings and systems Use design software for 2-D & 3-D drawings Prepare some hand drafted drawings Perform system hydraulic calculations Work with key customers and our design/build team to prepare conceptual drawings Produce shop drawings and as-built drawings Assist with system and equipment selection Assemble system specifications and O&M Manuals Coordinate with field personnel to ensure information flow

Qualifications/Skills:

Demonstrated ability with AutoSprink or other specialized fire sprinkler layout software Good planning and problem-solving skills Good math skills Able to understand big picture issues Good communication, written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills Project management experience a plus Professional and detail-oriented Good with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Reliable with ability to complete tasks within deadlines and communicate results back to the team Possess a progressive, positive attitude Ability to work as part of a team to achieve the Company's overall goals

Pay Range:

Pay dependent upon level of experience and education
