MILL RIVER UNIFIED UNION SCHOOL DISTRICTJOB POSTING & DESCRIPTIONPOSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR (ANTICIPATED VACANCY)___________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION TITLE: Special Education Paraeducator (ANTICIPATED VACANCY)LOCATION: Tinmouth Mountain School (location subject to change based on need)FTE: 1.0 SUPERVISED BY: Building Principal(s), Director and Assistant Director of Student Services, Licensed Personnel BASIC FUNCTION: To provide high-quality developmental, pre-academic, and social/emotional/behavioral support services to assigned students in order to ensure progress across all developmental domains.WORKS WITH: Students, Teachers, Support Staff, AdministrationCOMPENSATION: In accordance with the 2025-2028 collective bargaining agreement for MRUUSD Support Staff, the range of compensation for this position is from $17.84 - $26.35. It is anticipated that this position may include eligibility for a $5.00 per hour stipend in accordance with Article 12.4 of the Master Agreement for Support Staff. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to interact effectively, including written and verbal interactions, with students and co-workers.2.
Ability to take direction and feedback when provided, and to work independently when needed.3. Ability to implement a variety of developmental, pre-academic and social/emotional/behavioral supports under the supervision/direction of licensed personnel.4. Must possess an Associates Degree or the equivalent; or the ability to pass an academic competency assessment prior to beginning employment.5. Must complete all state-mandated PreK trainings and obtain the training certifications required for employment within a licensed, school-based public PreK program.6.
Must pass all criminal record checks and ensure completion of fingerprinting requirements.7. The applicant must be willing to work amongst all campuses within the MRUUSD.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide direct support and supervision to assigned students in order to meet their developmental, pre-academic, and social/emotional/behavioral needs, given supervision/direction from licensed personnel.2. Manage any and all social/emotional/behavioral challenges using positive and proactive approaches.3.
Complete state and district-mandated trainings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as directed by licensed personnel and/or Administration.4. Assist with data-collection and record-keeping tasks as assigned by licensed personnel.5. Completion of Medicaid billing as applicable and directed.6. Other responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to routine daily duties assigned by the Administration.
