QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree or the Equivalent or Passing Scores on a Work Keys Test
  • Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.
  • Effective human relation skills.
  • Professionalism, dedication, and flexibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assigned duties as designated by the teacher, principal, and special education coordinator.
- Work with individuals and/or small groups to reinforce academic and behavioral skills introduced by the teacher.
- Perform clerical and record-keeping duties as assigned by the principal and teacher.
- Handle discipline as directed by the principal and teacher.
- Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials.
- Report to the teacher any concerns, problems, or relative information about students.
- Keep all information concerning school business, students, and personnel confidential.
- Observe students during activities, field trips, and/or community-based work experience, classroom activities, at home, and other school and community environments.
- Act as a support system to protect instructional time in the classroom.
- Take the initiative to carry out duties and responsibilities as they arise in an effort to assist the classroom teacher.
- Must be able to read and follow all academic and behavioral plans.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
ANNUAL CALENDAR DAYS: 9 Months (187 Days, 8 Hrs.)
**SALARY WILL BE PRORATED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR**
