We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with a strong background in fine dining and catering. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food production.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and development.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Participate in catering events and banquet preparations as needed.
Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Handle shift management responsibilities, ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
Support team management efforts by fostering a collaborative atmosphere among kitchen staff.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment.
Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Experience in menu planning, food production, and food service management.
Familiarity with inventory management practices and food handling regulations.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen staff.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of hospitality standards and exceptional customer service skills.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred; banquet experience is a plus.
