Overview:

Industry: Aerospace/Defense

Position: Source Inspector

Location: Warrendale, PA

Duration: (180) days (6 months) to start expansion to be made by Boeing as needed.

Frequency: (40) hours per week; (5) days per week (8) hours per day.

Any special requirements: As this is an SFI, it could end up being long term. The SFI clock resets if Boeing receives a bad shipset (within a 90 day period).

The source inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform quality assurance methodologies and Source Inspections of processes on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Parts will be sourced to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The source inspector will be required to report findings and NCRs directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

Candidate must have practical experience performing Source Inspections on parts and processes for complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The Source Inspections and methodologies will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience sourcing via the using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
