The Sonographer II is responsible for the independent operation of diagnostic medical equipment to assess and diagnose various OBGYN/MFM conditions and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Ultrasound examinations include a variety of conditions ranging from routine OBGYN to high-risk obstetrical scans and include (but are not limited to) nuchal translucency, fetal anatomy survey, Doppler studies, biophysical profile, and endovaginal scans. Will work in a progressive, busy office and will scan outpatients and inpatients providing comprehensive collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine providers, Registered Nurses and OB/GYN Providers. Provides clinical services according to specialized maternal fetal ultrasound practice standards to detect fetal anomalies and acts as a resource to students, nurses, fellows and other technologists, to ensure the safety of patients. The sonographer is responsible for the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). Must be able to work independently and have a thorough knowledge of high-risk situations.
