Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Staff Aeronautical / Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Propulsion Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas, Texas. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control\'s highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry. This specific position is related to Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion Engineering for performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of new aerospace products and technologies. The staff SRM propulsion engineer will need to have the ability and experience to work with a well known SRM propulsion supplier for an existing production program, providing primary technical oversight for the rapid development, test, and manufacturing of a solid rocket motor. The SRM Propulsion Engineering role will also include the following responsibilities related to the Solid Rocket Motor (SRM): will assist in the development of product specifications and statements of requirements, coordinate motor performance predictions and interfaces with the Missile IPT, develop test plans, support supplier and system level testing, coordinate and run weekly working group meetings with motor suppliers, and present motor status at informal internal meetings as well as formal program meetings with LM and the customer. The Propulsion Engineer will work with the SRM supplier as required to satisfy program requirements. The engineer will also be required to support quick-turnaround urgent failure investigations, failure analysis and facilitate production deviation closures with meeting engineering requirements and mission objectives.

The must have good written and oral communication skills and can organize/prepare/present major program presentations on the rocket motor development efforts for SRR, CDR, PDR, and CDR along with the potential/selected rocket motor suppliers. Additionally, the candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to program and customer personnel at technical interchange meetings, and design reviews.

The candidate will also be interfacing and coordinating efforts with Structural Dynamics Engineers, Mechanical Designers, Thermal Engineers, Material & Process Engineers, Environments Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Laboratory Test Engineers, Production Operations, Subcontractor Management and other departments.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with Solid Rocket Motor propulsion and rocket motor manufacturing or production of either assembly, subsystems, or components. Emphasis on propellant and grain formulations, batch mixing and testing. Experience with Solid Rocket Motor suppliers and vendors while working hand in hand with program management and customers to deliver results. Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment. Candidate must be able to travel in support of program meetings and ground testing
Desired Skills:
A current Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with at least 7 years of professional experience in SRM propulsion.
Experience with testing of either Solid rocket motor assemblies, sub-assemblies or components.
Expertise in Solid Propellant Chemistry and Liner/Bonding Systems within SRM\'s. Experience with aerospace manufacturing methods and addressing non-conformances (MRB). Experience with Matlab, Simulink, LabVIEW, and NX.

Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical and organizational skills. Considered an emerging authority.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for supporting the generation of propulsion analysis plans, and propulsion testing / analysis reports are necessary.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
