Job Description


Cox Automotive is actively seeking a Software Test Engineer II to fortify our Central Dispatch team. This role is tailored for a professional who possesses a deep understanding of software testing methodologies and is driven to ensure the delivery of top-tier, defect-free software products.

What You\'ll Do:

Collaborate

  • Engage proactively with developers, analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to derive actionable testing requirements from functional and technical specifications.
  • Offer insights and feedback during the development process, ensuring testability of features and modules.
  • Contribute to the estimation of testing workloads for projects, enhancements, and regular operations.
  • Work alongside members of the software testing and quality assurance teams, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and collective growth.
  • Drive troubleshooting and defect resolution discussions, leveraging expertise to find optimal solutions.
Execute
  • Participate in software testing efforts, from unit tests to integration and system tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage and high-quality standards.
  • Craft, manage, and optimize test plans and test cases to validate software functionality, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers and product teams, ensuring a seamless feedback loop and early defect detection.
  • Systematically report, document, and track defects, using tools and processes to ensure transparency and timely resolution.
  • Engage in peer reviews of test cases and scripts, ensuring meticulousness and adherence to the highest testing standards.
  • Continuously gather feedback on the testing processes, striving for efficiency and adaptability in the face of evolving requirements.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by exploring and integrating innovative testing tools, technologies, and methodologies into the testing lifecycle.
  • Champion a mindset of continuous improvement, both personally and as a team, fostering an environment that values learning and growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related discipline and 2 years\' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master\'s degree and up to 2 years\' experience; or 6 years\' experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise as a Software Test Engineer with a strong emphasis on automated testing.
  • Proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, notably Amazon Web Services (AWS). Docker experience is an advantage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software testing methodologies, best practices, and the Quality Assurance lifecycle.
  • Robust analytical skills, coupled with the ability to decipher complex software modules and functionalities.
  • Experience in an agile development framework, collaborating seamlessly with a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, and product managers.
  • Stellar communication skills, adept at conveying intricate test scenarios, defects, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset is a plus and regarded favorably across the board.
