Position Overview

This position supports the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) as part of the Accounts Receivable and Collections (ARC) Project. The resource will act as a senior-level Software Test Analyst responsible for both manual and automated testing activities, including test planning, execution, reporting, API testing, and ADA compliance verification.

Top Skills and Experience Requirements (5+ Years Each):

Designing and executing manual and automated test cases. Analyzing requirements, user stories (Azure DevOps), and acceptance criteria to create effective, reusable test cases (including positive, negative, and boundary testing). Automating web applications with tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc. Working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile development environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Design and execute manual and automated test cases. Understand software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes--including Quality Assurance, User Acceptance, System Integration, Performance, Regression, and more. Generate and document test plans, strategies, reports, and metrics. Conduct API testing and ADA compliance testing using tools such as Postman, Rest Client, AccVerify, JAWS, etc. Build and execute test suites across environments (DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD). Write clean, object-oriented Java code for test automation. Implement Gherkin scenarios and Java step definitions. Write SQL and P-SQL queries for test data validation. Identify and manage bugs in tools like Azure DevOps. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Michigan locals only -- candidates must live within 90 minutes of Lansing, MI.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with secure application development lifecycle (SADLC).

Nice to Have:

Experience with Azure DevOps Testing Module. Mobile app testing (iOS, Android). Automation using Playwright for Java library. Development with Eclipse. Background in Selenium WebDriver and TestNG. Performance and load testing (JMeter, LoadRunner). API testing tools (Postman, RESTAssured, APIRequestContext).
