Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Embedded Software Engineer to lead Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) software team and develop embedded software products at our Grand Prairie, Texas site.

An HWIL is used for software development, integration and test for new missile capabilities.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will work in a team with both technical and career leaders, experiencing all phases of software development, ranging from requirements analysis through code implementation and formal qualification testing.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Software development from requirement analysis to integration, acceptance test, and delivery.

- Guiding the software development team through tasks as defined in the Product Development Process (PDP) in an Agile framework

- Developing software solutions in line with program requirements

- Tackling exciting engineering problems to the modernization of legacy capability into the joint weapon system overall effort

Additionally, technical leadership of the software team and leading them through the software development process, supporting customer reviews, and successful demonstration activities while providing product leadership.

It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is also possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).

Telecommuting opportunities can vary depending on daily tasking.

Basic Qualifications:
*Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position*

- Experience with C and C++ programming languages in a Real-Time Operating System or Linux environment

- Software team lead experience

- Extensive experience with embedded software that is hardware intensive

- Experience managing budget/schedule and Control Account Management (CAM) and earned value
Desired Skills:
- Should have experience with device drivers, FPGA development, hands-on experience related to hardware testing and embedded systems and simulation systems

- Experience coordinating with different stakeholders (program management, other engineering disciplines, functional management) to drive program execution

The following are preferred:

- Agile experience

- Simulation experience

- Experience in defense contracts
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
